| Chiral Technologies, Inc., Announces the Third Addition to Its New
Generation of Immobilized Technology Analytical Column Product LineCHIRALPAKŪ IC
Chicago, IL February 25, 2007 CHIRAL TECHNOLOGIES,
INC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Daicel Chemical Industries,
Ltd., of Japan, announced today, at the Pittsburgh Conference
2007 in Chicago, the newest addition to their polysaccharide
product lineup, CHIRALPAK® IC HPLC columns.
CHIRALPAK IC is the third in a new series of robust
columns that has been prepared using a Daicel immobilization
technology on a novel CSP (Chiral Stationary Phase)
that exhibits remarkable stability, separation reproducibility
and column durability when used in normal phase, reverse
phase and SFC modes.
In screening, when combined with the CHIRALPAK IA and
CHIRALPAK IB, the CHIRALPAK IC will result in new and
robust separations with exceptionally high success rates,
using fewer columns and a limited number of mobile phases.
In preparative separations the addition of IC to the
immobilized Daicel range increases the potential to
find a highly productive separation that matches the
column selectivity to the solvent that best suits the
racemate.
In method
development, due to the novel nature of the CSP, the
column can undertake new, improved and complementary
separations using both normal and extended mobile phases.
At launch the column will be available in analytical
size columns (250 x 4.6 and 150 x 4.6). Semi preparative,
SFC and microbore columns as well as bulk CSP(20 µm
particle size) will be available shortly after.
In addition to chiral chromatography columns, CHIRAL
TECHNOLOGIES, INC., also supplies bulk chiral stationary
phases and preparative chiral columns for chromatographic
resolution of single enantiomer compounds. At its technical
center in
West Chester, PA (suburb of Philadelphia), the company
operates an Outsourcing Center for Separation of chiral
intermediates and APIs in pre-clinical and clinical
evaluation. This facility utilizes state-of-the-art
chromatography equipment—
SMB (also known as multi-column chromatography [MCC]),
supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), and traditional
single column preparative HPLC systems.
CHIRAL TECHNOLOGIES, INC., was established in 1990,
and has served the pharmaceutical and other life science
industries during this period of rapid growth of chiral
pharmaceuticals.
